Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

We collect only the personal information we reasonably need to provide our services and respond to enquiries: contact details (name, organisation, email, phone, role); enquiry content; client engagement records; and standard web server logs.

We do not collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act, and we ask that you do not send it to us.

2. How and why we collect it

Directly from you in almost all cases — through our contact form, by email, by phone, or during an engagement. We use it to respond to your enquiry, prepare proposals, provide consulting services, manage the client relationship including invoicing, and comply with our legal and tax obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not add enquirers to a marketing list without asking.

3. Disclosure

We may disclose personal information to service providers who support our business (email, document storage, accounting, hosting) under confidentiality obligations; to professional advisers where necessary; and to regulators or law enforcement where required by law. We do not disclose client information to other clients.

4. Overseas disclosure

Some software we use may store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States and European Union. Where this happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

5. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls, multi-factor authentication and encryption in transit. If we become aware of a data breach likely to result in serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as the law requires. Enquiries that do not become engagements are generally deleted within twelve months. Client records are retained for seven years to meet tax and professional obligations.

7. Cookies and analytics

This website uses only what is necessary to serve pages, plus a cookie consent tool. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google and Google may log your IP address.

8. Accessing and correcting your information

You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@interstellardigital.com.au. We respond within 30 days and there is no charge.

9. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first. We will acknowledge within 5 business days and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
